Product Information
There are a lot of great Ken Patera stories, but one of our favorites is how a couple of guys walking into the gym one day saw Ken over at the squat rack piling plates on the bar--three wheels and a lot of change on each side. "Great," they said. "We're going to get to see Ken squat!", as he got under the bar. Then Ken did some presses behind the neck.
That's the thing about Ken Patera--he was so strong that even strong guys, and guys used to seeing strong guys, were amazed . . . whether he was ripping a parking meter out of the sidewalk, shrugging a York bar so violently that he bent it, or just pressing more than 500 pounds overhead, Ken Patera was S-T-R-O-N-G. He's also about the only guy besides Vasily Alexeev and Pat Casey who seem to be beyond the Big B's sometimes sharp tongue . . . maybe if Bruce had another brother, it could have been Ken.
Ken Patera: if there's someone to write this story, it's Bruce Wilhelm, 1976 Olympian, two-time World's Strongest Man winner and MILO cover guy, so get it while it's hot because if you already know about Ken, you've probably digested this book and if you don't, it's time that you do. 44 pp.
